haha, i found this while perusing the Tokamak (free physics engine) forums. this proof of concept demo is pretty funny, and VERY cool. it uses the Tokamac physics engine and Ogre graphics engine.
press spacebar and it starts up the physics engine.
1 and 2 keys select body part to grab.
arrow keys yank (and i mean yank) the orge around.
3 kicks the selected body part towards teh wall (he follows, yoink)
4 pulls/stands him up by his selected body part.
select body part 11 and you can fly around like captain caveman.
select bodypart 4 and keep hitting the number 4 to try to stand him up, it's just like he's drunk lol.
use the arrow keys to try to get him spinning around breakdance style .
pretty nifty eh? the fat lard's butt even jiggles. i can't wait until characters in games all use this kindof motion for general movements and interactions.
think of it, in a FPS game you could knock an enemy's aim off by knocking his arm. in a fighting game, well it'd be real! you could sumo wrestle.
i imagine you'd need a lot of inteligence to allow a character to be able to balance enough to walk around and do things without falling over. maybe a nueral net program wuold be the best (imitate our own children's movement learning habits).
