There's a considerable amount of effort going on in and around the community.

That settles it. I'm gonna have to start coming back here at least weekly so I'm in the know. You people aren't simply emailing me with these important developments like you should be! ;p

Me? Been trying to expand my powerbase and either a) learn to code well enough to design a Descent-style MMO all by myself, or b) win the lotto so I can start up a company and hire devs to do the coding for me! ;p
In the meantime, during my 'off hours', I focus on pl/sql and oracle dba knowledge, starting to learn php, python, lisp, C, and C++, and keeping up on the knowledge I need to hold onto so I can keep doing my day job. *laughs* The half-finished novel is, sadly, DOA until I can find the bandwidth to return to it.
Other than that... not much, I think. *looks around, confused, then stumbles off into room full of books and computers with a glazed look in his eyes*

It's a real tribute to the descent games and community that people are still working (however much) on keeping D1 and D2 alive.

Every time I run the game , I have to change video res , It won't save it...

D2X or D2X-XL? If the latter, please post in the D2X-XL support request tracker on Sourceforge.net. I will deal with your problems there.

Hey, hiya MK !! Good to see you.. uhhh, I guess I need to look the new D2 stuff, sounds cool.
Now that I think of it, maybe I should fire up D3 and see what's out there these days. Geeez, I haven't played for over a year, maybe two...

D2X-XL works fine for me, except for one thing. If I import all the HI-RES-textures from the D2X-XL website, the first level of Descent 2 crashes when I approach and shoot at the iron bars holding the guidebot...

Not from across the Pacific; that would have cost a fortune.

I got into the scene with the Descent 2 demo... but I was already in college by then.
With D2X and D3 running in Linux and OSX, there's all kinds of technology going on. Including old-school joystick support. Somebody needs to send me some old joysticks to test in Linux...

Sorry bubba. personal attacks with a gif over ancient crap is both petty and sad. that ★■◆● doesn't even matter anymore.
I got a chuckle out of it though, holding a grudge this long over something so insignificant. cry some more, why don't ya.

Thanks
Ferno! (Bubbalou)
(uh , yeah, I knew that)
It's to be noted that the music is a bit different on the D1&2 set from the \"Definitive Collection\" But that's what you are getting with this purchase.

ya mean Thanks BUBBALOU
Why it's here makes no sense, this thread is not trimmed.
Ferno's post should be about
Descent Rebirth at least......
since this thread is only promoting D2X-XL. <cough>
