You could try D2X-XL and the UDP/IP functionality therein and let me know how it worked ...

I guess when they're ready. It probably isn't broken any more on my end since I altered my router configuration somewhat...
I can probably make it any time, although ideally I would like to see one within the next two or three weeks.

If you use the tracker that's provided by VEX clan for D2X-XL (or give me the address of another one), I would be excited to join in!
I don't know when a good day would be cuz I have something almost every night...but I'll try to make whatever you guys decide.

I'd love to join in...not sure when would be a good time, however. Either tomorrow night or next weekend sometime. I also agree that we should try it out using D2X-XL. Using UDP/IP works quite well and if the game is created on the tracker, it'll be even easier to join

Definately please try out with the tracker for D2X-XL. Lot of people using that awesome program these days.
Not this weekend, but next weekend may be good... I think.

A technical hint:
-pps (default: 10) and -shortpackets control network burden. If everybody participant has a broadband connection, you can omit the shortpackets parameter. This will cause player positions to be updated more frequently and reduce ship jumping or jittering.

Phaser, maybe put up a poll for the upcoming Saturdays and see which one gets the most votes?

Do you have to use D2X to join a D2 Revival game? If so I won't be ablt to join in...
But maybe in the future then...

No, you don't.

wOOt! (That's the first time I've used that...) Great! Just tell be how to join the next game and I'll be there!!
THough if were using a new level it might be interesting... I'll have to run though it during a serial-multiplayer game to check things out.

anyone still want to have a revival? i have just recently caught wind of d2x-xl and i am very excited about it. it basically replaces D1 as well because of its excellent d1 level support. so if i come to a revival, i would be highly interested in playing some old-school d1 levels as well. anybody up for this?

Don't forget to download the D1 palette for D2...

dude!! is this like the d1 textures for use in d2? that is awesome, because some of the levels look really fucked up when you play em in d2x
you are my hero
edit: download link is broken. is there any way you could email it to me or offer it on kali? thanks

Palette is different from textures - but if you copy Descent.pig into the D2 folder you can get them anyway.

hmm, i did that, but it still uses the d2 textures for d1

Then it doesn't find descent.pig. If you are using D2X-XL you can launch it using the switch -debug-printlog. This will cause it to create a file named d2x.log in the program folder. Send it to karx11erx at hotmail dot com - it might help me to figure what's wrong with your installation.
