Yup. I used the famous "Whoopass Cannery" picture as a guide to create a stencil for the hole. I backlit it with a UV cold cathod light and a UV tripple LED flood light.AceCombat wrote:that a fusion cannon there?
One thing you dont see in this picture is that that big blue light in front is a "blue thunder" lamp which has a lightning effect. (Cant get a high enough shutter speed in the dark to show it) The effect is to represent the blue orb sitting behind a grid.

The sticker on the front says \"Designed for Windows Me\"
Specs:
Case: Cooler Master Wave Master, aluminum
Power supply: 550w Sparkle/Fortron EPS12v
Motherboard: Asus PC-DL, using the onboard sound
Processor: 2- 1.6ghz low voltage Xeons (1.3v) currently running at 2.64ghz (1.6v)
RAM: 1gb Corsair XMS PC3200C2
Video card: Radeon 9800 Pro w/Zalman cooler
Hard drives: 2- WD 160gb drives in RAID 1; 1- 120gb Maxtor 7200 rpm
Other: 52x/24x/52x Liteon burner, 8x NEC dual-layer DVD burner, floppy
The CPU heatsinks are bigass passive cooling towers, and theres a 120mm speed-controlled fan blowing through a cooling shroud over them, the VRM heatsink, and the RAM. Reasonably quiet, and temps under full load dont go above 45C.

I'm curious, how do you type messages while playing with that keyboard? Other than that, I would love to have that keyboard. Or, if this ever comes out.Badboy wrote: Keyboard:Zboard Gaming Keyboard
I don't have a very pretty computer. Mine is just an old black 486 case covered in random stickers. I do have a pretty cool mythtv computer case with a modded hard drive that I built myself that I'm quite proud of.
Then there is my desktop:

that Optimus is nice, the zboard is really nice it has changeable key sets and 2 usb ports on the front of it to plug in a mp3 player or a camera, there is a IE keyset (standard) and the gaming keyset that is in the picture, i do admit it can be challenging to type something like this on the gaming keyset.
Those are all amazing systems, I am impressed, and almost embarrased to tell about mine LOL but here goes:
•AMD Athlon™ 64 3800+
•250GB SATA hard drive
•Extra storage: 2 additional 120GB SATA hard drives
•1GB of DDR memory
•Dual DVD drives (one DVDRW, one reg. DVD/CDROM)
•9-in-1 memory card reader
•Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic
•Video: VisionTek XTASY Radeon X1300 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 CrossFire Ready
This particular computer is not one I built (went against my better judgement and bought one from Circuit City). It's an Acer. I mainly bought it because of the motherboard and the PCI Express setup. The video card I put in was well worth it, but I really wanted the X1900XT (but much more expensive). I'm working on getting a better case with all the neat lights and stuff like you guys have. Also, my pet peave is cooling, so I'll be putting in some extra case fans when I make the change. I live in Louisiana, it gets pretty hot here. I did however go ahead and get rid of the crappy CPU fan that came with it. I went with the Zalman \"heat pipe\" setup. So far, it's keeping this processor much cooler than the stock setup did, even after a lot of hard work. Here's a picture of it:

Now all you need is another 7900GTX.
Yeah, some very, very high-end stuff here more recently, although it does show how fast technology has been going (the January posts are relatively dated by my own box; the recent ones are not).
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Venice)

Logitech Internet Chat Headset
Acer AL1917 8ms 19\" LCD screen
Microsoft Comfort Curve USB keyboard
Generic OEMed corded optical mouse (refuse to go cordless but I'm not quite at the Razer point yet)
Saitek Cyborg Evo

These are all some pretty, powerful systems. You people who showed your little gaming place, they're cool too.
My area is comparable, but my system is older, much older, but can still do lots. Specs first, then pictures. Dialup warning on pictures; high resolution! All images larger than 1024x768.
InWin case, pretty generic and cramped ATX mini tower
Gigabyte GA-7ZX rev. 1.01 motherboard; VIA KT133A chipset
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 GHz
640 MB SDR RAM PC133 (3 sticks: 2 256 and 1 128)
nVidia GeForce FX 5200, 128 MB DDR VRAM; AGP (in a 4x slot)
Turtle Beach Catalina sound; 2.0 Creative speakers, card is capable of 7.1 and digital optical SPDIF out/in
Realtek 8139 10/100 NIC
Western Digital Caviar WD102BA 10 GB ATA66 hard drive
Western Digital Caviar WD800B 80 GB ATA100 hard drive
Alps Electric 3 1/2\" floppy drive
Toshiba XM-5602B CD-ROM drive
Dual Saitek Cyborg Evos for flight (no pic yet)
The only upgrades I've done to this machine since I bought it have been processor, video card, RAM, and sound; I've had other things die, like old hard drives and a CD drive, but I keep it going. Now, for the eye candy. The pictures are a bit old, so no seeing teh Catalina, new HDD, or any of that. It's not much to look at, but it's pretty damn clean:
Front; this is when I had two floppy drives; I don't now
Upper half of motherboard; I have a BLOCK of a heatsink on my good ole CPU, cramping the space in there. There's a 1/4 inch between the PSU and CPU fan.
Lower half of mobo; Nice and pretty and clean, but no special lights. The case is so generic there's no side window.
Now, for my desk. Since the picture, I've taken the joystick out of the box (Saitek Cyborg Evo), moved the printer on top of the white monitor, and cleared off the left half of the desk.

I've gotten a new motherboard, memory, and case since last time. I'm so glad I got a roomier case; it's not near as cramped. I use windoze xp pro.
Here's the specs:
ASRock K7VM3 motherboard, microATX
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 GHz
512 MB DDR266 RAM
PNY nVidia GeForce FX 5200
3 1/2\" Alps Electric floppy drive (won't give it up till they stop putting the controllers on the boards)
ATA133 IDE data bus
Seagate ST4321A 4 GB, ATA (has windoze on it)
Seagate ST32122A, ATA (for swap)
Western Digital Caviar SE WD800BB 80 GB, ATA100 (has all my main data on it)
TEAC CD-540E 40x CD-ROM
Turtle Beach Catalina sound card; has SPDIF optical input/output; 7.1 surround capable
ATX mid/mini tower case w/ 2 case fans and a set of front bay fans
AGI 250W ATX PSU
As for my monitors, I have utter monsters:
IBM P260 21\" CRT, weighs nearly 100 pounds 1600x1200 75 Hz max res
Compaq P900 19\" CRT, weighs 50 pounds; 1920x1440, 32-bit, 70 Hz max res
I am running a Descent 3 dedi server now. Here are its specs:

AMD K6-2 500 MHz
384 MB (3.3V) PC100 RAM
Western Digital Caviar WD102BB 10 GB HDD
50x CD-ROM
Power Man 250W PSU
Not much to the server, but then all it has to do is host a D3 server. The OS on it is win xp.
