Since I have heard it mentioned a couple of times in various threads that someone has 'the latest' version of FF, and then stating they have 1.0.7, I would like to let everyone know that the latest is 1.5. If you missed my previous posts, or they were deleted by RC to consolodate threads:
Its a sad and sorry shame that half the useful plugins out there which made Firefox really useful have still yet to be updated to 1.5. And its still a memory hog.
but by then i had already fought with the source code and manually installed it under *nix, and of course the next day an .rpm was ready for my distro anyway... oh well.

there are ways to edit them so they work
you open the extension file like it's a zip, then extract one file with text in it - change the "max version" in teh text and then repack it all back up.
ok, i got some specifics, the file to look for is called install.rdf and it's inside the .XPI firefox extension file if you open it something that can unpack zip files (i think winxp will do it if you just rename the .xpi to .zip)
in that install.rdf file you edit what's inside this: <em:maxVersion> </em:maxVersion>
to something bigger than your current version of firefox (or just put something crazy like 9.9 in there, whatever).
then save the file and reinsert it back into the .XPI firefox extension file (if you renamed it to a .zip, this would mean renaming it back to .xpi), then drag the .xpi file into firefox to install it.
I hope all of you folks here are familiar with the BBCode extension for firefox.
Highlight some text, rightclick-bbcode-quote selection, and, tada, the text is within quote tags.
It will also let you copy a url, highlight some text and turn that text into a link. Color tags, bold, italics, whatever you want. It's shiney, and works with ff 1.5 just fine!
Hey guys, my v1.5 will not show me the little thumbnail pictures that are supposed to be there when you add a pic to a post. It's just this machine as the one behind me (literally) shows them fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to what is happening?

this is the source view for part of a page that should have thumbnails in it. The links to the actual picture s are there but the thumbnails seem to be missing. (If I read it correctly)
