X-FI sound cards and joystick ports

Post by ReadyMan »

When I decided to get this new rig, I opted for a dedicated sound card so that I would have a joystick port for my old 3dpros. However, the X-FI cards DO NOT have a joystick port...it looks like one, but it's actually an \"AD_Link to I/O Console\" (whatever that is used for I have no clue).

I hope this helps someone here at the DBB. I wish I'd known before the $120 was spent, though the sound really *is* amazing.

the only hope for a joystick port is Grendel's joystick to usb converter...(glad I order a couple).

All you can do in your case is drop in a cheap SB Live or something similar and disable everything except the gameport.
