Im running an older laptop and dial-up internet.

descent 1 and
descent 2 (demo)

so far, all i seem to be able to load and use effectively is DX1 v1.40, is that going to be able to play online multiplayer? or do i need XP and descent 3 as the minimum these days?
*(any help with kali appreciated)

Hope you guys get as big as 'quakeworld'

D1x version 1.40 has the capability to play multiplayer over Kali (just as every version of Descent has).

Some newer versions of the games, such as D1x 1.43, D2X-XL and all versions of Descent 3, also support multiplayer through other means such as UDP/IP and TCP/IP.

I could maybe accomidate a modem game. for either D1 or D2 (NOT D1X or D2X myu laptop's too slow...) I just to know the time and what level we might do along with the mode of play.
