Wierd net problem

Post by Nosferatu »

I can browsed for about ten minutes but then all port 80 traffic seems to hault completely. Other net traffic works fine. Its just this one machine on my LAN. I tried a different NIC card from the MOBO built in. No change. VIA chipset. No visible caps leaking.

Any ideas?

Ill edit this and add more info but I want to post incase it does it again.

EDIT: Im on my linux machine now since it just did it again.

Once it has happened, the only way to clear the problem is a reboot. Ive scanned for viruses. Cant find any.

MOBO is a ASRock K7VT4A PRO.

This started happening when I tried to upgrade to the latest and greatest VIA Hyperion 4in1 drivers. I downgraded them but the problem still is there.

The wierd thing is all other net traffic seems fine such as email ping and even Vortex. I can ping out of the machine but when I try to ping the machine from my linux machine it times out.

You try scanning for any spyware, or other malware??
if not, use the usual tri-fecta
Microsoft Anti-Spyware
Adaware6
and
Spybot S&D

another possibility is a hard firewall, like a router, maybe its gained a certain disliking to that PCs certain IP address, there are times when I have to depower mine and bring it back up becuase it does a similar thing. (linksys)

if not, try going back to the old drivers.

strike another tech question and answer to user error! :D

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

I imagine more then 90% of the \"problems\" that come across a Tech Forum like this can be boiled down to \"user error\". It is nothing new. :P

There have been several posters at the AMD support forums who have double posted with simply \"nvm\"
