Invincible Toyota Pick up Top Gear vid

Post by JMEaT »

This version has the extended footage at the end of it on top of the building they blew up.

This is one of the reasons I only own Toyotas. :)

Had heard about this, but never seen it!

Awesome build quality.

For many years the Hilux has been the #1 farm truck in New Zealand, and they used to make crazy adds where the hilux would be climbing vertical walls, getting 40 feet of air, working like a submarine.

Turns out those adverts weren't faked after all! HEH!

To be fair, they could have smashed it harder with the wrecking ball. It's not like they tried as hard as they could to kill it and then gave up.

Also, the top of the building was probably the safest place to put the truck. It's just like dropping it from that height. If they'd put it inside the building or next to the building, it would have had more debris falling on top of it.

The concrete essentially made a cushion for it. If the truck were dropped to the ground from that height, there'd be no hope of it ever running again. It would probably be in many small pieces, apart from the body, which might still be slightly recognizable.
