Spent my whole Saturday playing this level I really should get a life. Warning \"If you are planning to go there be prepared to die many times over\" All the hotshots can pick you up 3 miles away with that MD. BEHEMOTH please dont tell anyone that I went 7-46 against you
BUT IT WAS ALOT FUN

Never liked it. For somereason there are not may levels that became \"the level\" to play that I liked except for Pyroglyphic.
I liked levels like;
Fellowship set of levels
Caynon Seige
Chocobo
Keg D3
Koors
Nirvbox
Rome
Shaft
Skin Like Winter
Waltznmatilda
Yucatan
Wet Spot
Veridium 6

Caynon Seige
Yeah, that was always one of my favorite levels. LOVE that big open space for dogfights!

Behe, never got into CTf games myself, though I did love hoard and team hoard and instareap.

I like it, and yes I get picked off easy by the MD boys, but I still like it.

Halcyon is a great CTF level and would be even better if it would support 14player games without having to bump into your own team....in other words, someone could make it about twice it's size

But then, Halcyon wouldn't be Halcyon. Halcyon is great with about 8. And, in my VERY uneducated and unworthy opinion, starts getting too crowded with any more.

by d3jake
Though your opinion is uneducated... I found out that with any more than 8 players that it go too crowded when we were getting blown apart by Beh... THe biggest problem is that when you need 2 vs 1 or even 3 vs 1 to take down a pilot, it can get really crowded in the bases... something that it just about as worse as having another enemy in a base.

\"WOOT!\" for Keg Party D3!!!

Halcy is great as long as you have reasonably balanced teams. You can have some really good, intense combat in there.

Kil and jake are right, any more then 8 in halcyon is too many, NOT in half-pipe though =D

I'm hesatant to try any other levels untill I can consistantly get a good K-D ratio...
BTW, which other CTF levels are considered \"easier\" the Halycon?
And Bettina! Pretty much everybody who faced Beh had a really bad record!

Ugh, I just got out of a Halcyon game, I'm so slooooooowwwwww, too much rust. And slide left has been touchy on my hat switch for the last 4 months but I'm too lazy to fix it because I don't play enough.

Last night I played Halcyon and decided to try a Mag. I immediately saw my kill ratio go up big time and it was fun getting kills with the fusion instead of being the victim.
I found it much easier to stay alive and I think in that game only, I'm gonna use the mag. Its much easier than the phoenix. I'll be looking for you guys tonight.

I love hally, and always run 70+ eff in a mag there. Its my favorite level still being played somewhat regularly (unless I've been missing some PyroG games).

Halcyon is gay.

Great, that was an intelligent opinion... Try stating a reason next time.

Opinions are divided I see.
I dunno, I always found the tactics got the most interesting of any D3 level I played. It isn't saying so much as they tended to be quick duck-and-grab and overwhelm jobs, but I didn't really see much in anything else.
In my opinion, it pretty much perfectly hit the balance between flags that were too easy (Polaris) or too hard (Worlds Apart, not that I could stomach it anyway) to get.

I love hally, say what you will but it is the fastest paced ctf I've played when it has 8 players.
I cannot get enough constant action, hally has the fight usually coming straight at you, or you spawn right in the middle of it.
You dont have to fly looking for the fight , who cant love that?

There ya go. Why do ppl still play SD, Well they dont know about Hally
Posted: Wed Feb 22, 2006 12:16 pm
by Krom
No, they know about Hally. To them its that level where you have to aim to get a 1 hit kill most of the time.
Posted: Wed Feb 22, 2006 4:19 pm
by d3jake
Yeah, for once I agree with you Krom... THere have been a load of times when I've been killed in one shot (mostly since I was in a Phoenix...) and about 80% of the time it was from a tri-fusion Magnum...
Posted: Wed Feb 22, 2006 4:52 pm
by Krom
Keep in mind even a magnum can't survive a direct hit from charged trifusion unless its over like 140 shields. So it doesn't really matter what ship you are in, 120 shields or less is enough for a trifusion shot to one hit kill.

bummer... and That's a main weapon that behomoth uses...
Posted: Wed Feb 22, 2006 6:47 pm
by Behemoth
Remember jake, to conserve you're md ammo for opposing flag runners because they will usually grab the flag and outrun fusion.
That's the main reason me and a few other players stick to energy weapons in halcyon (Plasma, super lasers, fusion) Because the MD/Vauss ammo is not there.

That's not a probably for me normally... I get killed before I come even close to running out...

Halcyon is too easy of level. I always find myself getting kills without really trying. It's usually filled with terrible players as shown by people adoring Beheomoth for his skill. What a joke, eh? Anyway that might just be my opinion seeing that I was used to playing there on a nightly basis vs 4 D3K pilots with humorous aliases. Oh well that was 3 years ago.

Actually they "adore" me as you say it because i'm a good player who doesnt act like a jackass like most of the other guy's that you consider "good" either way, im surprised by you saying you get kills without trying wtf you get kills?

If you find a level \"too easy\", that does not reflect on the level but the players.
