Logitech Extreme 3D Pro hey first one lasted 2 weeks this one made a week!

There's gotta be a better alternative. I know I'll have the 3d pro converter but that 2-3 weeks off still. I guess at the rate I am going to need 3 more of these!

Man I love the soft durometer hat switch on this stick.

The Saitek's were nice but too large for my hands

it's a darn shame the logitech extreme 3d pros are having such problems. It's the best alternative to a sidewinder I've found. Mine turns right 3/4 of the time now. No fix possible. <sigh>

After the first broke after 2 weeks (I had the receipt) I now keep them in a special place and save my boxes, wlak in Buy it's broke and pick up another one.

I agree it's the best one next to the MS 3d pro, thank Grendel for athe MS 3D Pro converter! 2+ weeks and counting!

When I had my 1st 3d pro (with the MW2 game) it lasted 2 yrs. You ask if I broke the hat? No, I broke the twist. My 2nd 23d pro lasted another 2 yrs. Every stick I've had since then lasted me anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on how much D3 I play. I changed 14 sticks within 2 years back in 1999-2001. This is why I stopped playing every night.

I used to go through precision pro's every 3-4 months, I used to go through precision 2 sticks every 2 months or so, I went through logitech extreme 3d pro's every 2 weeks...

And now that I've \"downgraded\" to 3d pro sticks, they're lasting about a year.

WA what's the difference between extreme #D Pro and 3D Pro?

Extreme 3d pro is from Logitech and is about 1 yr old or so. Not a bad stick, it's the wired version of their wireless one.

Before you buy it, do a google on "extreme 3d pro" and "calibration".
After time, the calibration has a tendency to malfunction in the twist. After that it starts pulling to the right continually. 2 times out of 3 when I'm flying through the mines now I'm having to fly with a constant twist to the left just to keep going straight.

Everyone probably would have noticed the drop in my play quality over the last two weeks, except when you are at the bottom, there is no place to go but up!

Kilarin, I know the feelig, I guess that means you are the guy I am always fighting with for last place!

I like the stick and it hasn't lasted long enough to loose calibration.

(2 weeks more and I'll be able to use my 3D Pro again !)

One is made by logitech and breaks quickly, one is no longer made by microsoft and works well.

The calibration problems with the logitech stick stem from bad sensors. They will twist yaw or pitch randomly. The more you use the various axes, the faster it happens, for me that's approximately 2 weeks.

WA I know the difference between Logitech and MS, but I recalled seeing a 3d pro logitech, maybe it doesn't have the twist like the extreme does.

Thats the list of the current logitech joysticks. Mike, you're thinking of the \"Attack\" sticks which have no hat switch.

I have a Precision 2 now

only one hat direction would break on mine about every 6-12 months. I found out that my CH Joysticks use higher rated switches than any other Mfg out of the factory... so with that in mind, I decided to replace them with a better switch. Now the ones that M$ inlcuded in the joystick were Omron B3F-3120 which were 100gram switches and changed them to Omron BF3-3125 which are 260 gram switches problem solved.
