Alcatel HomeSpeed

Post by AceCombat »

this topic is directed to BubbaLou.

Bubba, my old Alcatel HomeSpeed DSL Modem. are these things programmed for a certain Phone # or can they be plugged into another phone line with DSL and be usable for someone else?

now i know the phone line has to have the DSL Signal fed into it or no modem will work at all. so im wondering if they are proprietary to that particular # or if they can be used on any phone line

i ask because i just found my older Alcatel and i wanna sell it for a few $$$.

The modem probably doesnt even know what number it is on, and it probably doesnt even care if the line has a dialtone or not if it even supports running a regular analog phone over the same wire.

your modem gains access to your dsl by username and password (PPPOE)

So have fun put that aged beast up for sale.

just clear out the user name and passwords and set it to factory default before you unplug it for good (aka reset button)

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.
