OH MY!
Posted: Mon Mar 06, 2006 6:01 pm
I was blessed last night with an opportunity to see many wonderous things. Sadly, nothing I can put in words will truly reflect what I saw or experienced.
I saw many a ship, beautiful sleek ships, kool ships, and bulky ships, a ship I think I might prefer to be seen flying up to my favorite cafe or saloon in
I was walked through a level development process, can you say “drag and drop?” Texture/lighting manipulation was a breeze. I really like the ability to develop the level or blocks in many packages and import it into the level development application. And man--the easy method to scale imported blocks was made a breeze by dragging what I call handles in the X, Y, and Z axis.
I saw a demo of the engine, OMG talk about sweet, all I can say is hold on to the seat of your gut-wrenching pants, this baby is going to blow your socks off!
You should have seen the fraggin’ weather. I guess day was set to 15 minutes or something because I saw a beautiful sunrise and later the sunset. This happened a few times during my demo--it was so kool--you could see the cloud cover start to come in then it would start raining. Bam! Outta nowhere comes this thunder and lightening that nearly knocked me out of my seat! OMG! After the sun set, you could see the moon rise. It looked so friggin’ real! During the day you could watch the shadows play out around you. Man this is all new to me! I saw oodles and oodles of textures. It was awesome you sit there and watch a breeze kick up and the trees and grass would start swaying!
I saw BOT's! One of the badasses made the hairs on my neck stand up in anticipation of one hellova battle in store for me--the kind that you can dream about! While maneuvering around it was kool instead of see some silly pixilated screen you saw what looked like a flat screen display with a resolution to match.
I can't say too much about the physics just yet as I wasn't flying the ship
In closing I just want to say that I was impressed to my core by the decision and effort the HighOctane Team has put into Core Decision to date.
