TeamSpeak

Okay, we know that a TS server will probably cost a little bit to host, I was wondering if there is anybody that would be willing to host one for free, or give us a channel or two on one of their prexisting server. The reason I ask is because I know of 4 servers already that we can use with out too much trouble (seeing it as we only have 3 members...) I know of the dbb.net server, VEX, DIII, and descentforun.de (I think they have one...) But I don't think they would appreciate us taking up their bandwidth too much...

Why not host it yourself? If you are all on at the same time, just installt he server software on your PC, open port 8767 and voila.

I'm not quite that ignorant... If I was online all the time, I would. If I had a computer online all the time, I would...

I didn't mean to insinuate you were ignorant. Just thought that if you were all on only at the same time you could set it up yourself.

It's a voice chat program. someone hosts a server and sets up parameters and you join after jump through a hoop or two.

It's free. (except for the person hosting the bandwidth.)

You can Download it HERE

(it's also linked below the server list.)

;)

I know what it is. I am saying he is asking for one but it looks like there is already one on these forums.

My opolgise... I now understand what you meant.

BTW, KoolBear. I need one for the clan that I'm in. We have all of 3 members, we need probably about 5 CHannels. One for just conversation, and 4 for the possible teams on CTF. Nothing too big... But it would be nice to have one that isn't a part of someone else's where you have to go hunting for the right channel, and that way it looks simple. As it should be.

sorry, do you have five telephones at home for different topics? i mean, three members and five channels. the equation doesn't seem right, but i can't point my finger to it.

FOr the future! We won't always be a small clan! (I hope...) That way we don;t have to chagne anything down the road.

For a sense of perspective, the group I usually play on voice with (can be ten or more players in voice sometimes) play in only one channel.

Apparently at one time (before I joined them) they had multiple channels, as you're suggesting, but found that it just fragmented the conversation, and completely shut down the good-natured \"trash-talking\" between competitors.

I enjoy having team-mates on voice, but the most fun is hearing the \"oh, man!\" when I take a competitor down, or egging opponents on with a \"catch me if you can!\" when I'm escaping with the flag. ;)

http://www.descentforum.de/teamspeak/

you can type \".teamspeak\" on our descentforum.net irc chat (irc.descentforum.net:6667 #descent) so the Guidebot will tell you the login-infos for a few TS-servers...

Do_Checker, might as well add the DBB TS

Do_Checker, might as well add the DBB TS to your list!

d3jake,

How about I create a channel for you now, when you get larger we will change the rooms.
