Alternate dimension? Parallel universe?

Post by Xamindar »

What is the deal with http://www.descentbb.com/ ??

I just found out about it. Is it new? Why does it copy these forums so closely? Is it trying to take over or confuse people?

SO MANY QUESTIONS!!! :P

The only major difference between the two boards is on .com you can be a bit more free with your language then here.

Use the search feature. It'll explain everything.

DBB.com was created in response to disagreements between several long-standing moderators and members of this board. We didn't like what was going on here, so we left and started our own.

Pretty accurate. Some of the disagreements were:

- language filtering (ie, ability to use swear words)
- whether certain moderators were too aggressive in closing old threads people re-awakened
- whether certain subjects were off-limits or not
- whether we should take donations to cover server costs etc.

All told, the boards aren't really that different, except in a few specific forums. Mostly that's not due to different rules, but just a different set of people who post there.
