if you read it careful, you'll notice, that it's made of metal.
imo the advertising argument \"metal\" and the fact, that it's indeed made of metal make it that expensive. molds for metal castings are more expensive, because metals have a higher melting temperature. etc.

Anywhere outside the Descent or flightsim community, if you were to talk about the \"Thrust Master\" most people would probably think it is some product you would purchase at an adult video store.
